HRH Princess Benedikte of Denmark visits GEMCO Stand

The visit started with a trip through the town’s past with a visit to the world famous shoe collection at the Northampton Museum and Art Gallery. At the reception HRH Princess Benedikte was shown her great-great-grandmother, Queen Victoria’s wedding shoes. The Princess donated a pair of her own Chanel shoes to the collection before moving on to the Guildhall.

At the Guildhall the Princess was greeted by representatives from five Danish companies based in Northampton. Carlsberg, Opus Energy, Gemco, DKL Marketing and Nordjysk Eldhandel are all working in Northampton and playing an important part in the town’s economy.

The Princess was also given a guided tour of the Northampton Alive exhibition by the Leader of the Council, Councillor David Mackintosh. The exhibition allows visitors to walk through the Northampton of the future and showcases some of the major regeneration projects that are already starting to shape our town.
