The brake maintenance device S 20 was especially developed for service stations that need to be flexible in using original containers. 5 to 20 litre containers fit on the device’s platform and the taper adaptor of the tank tube tightens reliably different diameters of container bung holes.
Structure and function
The S 20 is a solid, mobile brake maintenance device designed for the use of original containers of 5-20 liters. The light aluminum steel construction as well as two rubber wheels and two castor wheels make the device well maneuverable.
The pressure is infinitely adjustable from app. 0.4 to 3.5 bar.
The brake fluid is drawn from the container with a tank tube with taper adaptor with gripping notches to fit and tighten different container bung holes. The container is placed on the device’s platform and secured with an adjustable belt. Connected with an adaptor to the compensation reservoir of the vehicle the electrically driven pump transports the brake fluid into the hydraulic system. To avoid a foaming of the brake fluid the pressure is built up slowly when the pump is started. The pulsation of the fluid jet flushes even the smallest gas bubbles and dirt particles out of hydraulic system and ensures a complete purge and bleed. When the container is empty a pressure switch set before the pump automatically deactivates the device to avoid that air is accidentally pumped into the hydraulic system.
When the ventilation is complete and the pump is turned off the pressure escapes through the integrated return-flow and the level inside the compensation reservoir is adjusted. When the pressure has fallen to 0 bar the quick lock coupling can be disconnected from the adaptor without spilling brake fluid.
The 3.5 m long filling hose gives enough range to enable a fluid change on a car lift. Also available is the S 20 Duo which is equipped with a separate pre-draining system for emptying the compensation reservoir of the vehicle.
