Garage Equipment Installation Engineers x 1 (South of England)

POSITIONInstallation Engineer 

LOCATION Scotland / South London

HOURS OF WORK5 day week, Monday to Friday with occasional overnight stays 

HOLIDAYS25 days, plus Bank Holidays 

EQUIPMENT PROVIDEDCompany Vehicle, tablet, mobile phone, work wear and PPE 

SCOPEInstallation of a wide range of garage equipment – vehicle lifts,  brake testers, gas analysers and smoke testers 

Description of Duties 

  • Carry out installation on a wide range of garage equipment products including vehicle lifts, brake testers, gas analysers and smoke testers. 
  • Ensuring control of own van stock to meet First Time Fix targets. 
  • The continued development of skills required ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard 
  • Prepared for occasional overnight stays from home. 
  • Prepared to work overtime when required. 

 Competencies 

  • To have good working knowledge and experience of installation activities in a field service environment 
  • Ability to install equipment working from site specification and scale CAD drawings. 
  • Able to understand and follow procedures and work instructions, working to specified standards 
  • A multi-skilled Garage Equipment engineer with a proven ability to deliver excellent quality of service to customers. 
  • To be flexible and willing to work overtime and Saturdays as requested. 
  • To be self-motivated 
  • Customer focused 
  • Positive “can do” attitude towards solving customer problems. 
  • Confident and able to work under own initiative 
  • Excellent communication skills – dealing with colleagues and customers at all levels. 
  • Knowledge of the region’s geography and road network would be a distinct advantage. 
  • Clean driving licence 

  Education/Qualifications 

  • Good level of education, ideally with relevant trade qualifications in a related discipline.

Field Service Engineer – Small Tools x 2 North/West London Area & The Midlands

This role includes the continuous inspection and calibration of workshop garage equipment tooling, ensuring our customers are compliant and productive.

Attention to detail and ensuring the correct processes are adopted are key for this role. Persons with experience working with small lifting equipment and calibration of torque wrenches / air-line gauges etc. are required as a minimum, as training will be provided.

Breakdown Engineers – Mechanical/Hydraulics Based x 6 Various Locations

This role includes responding to workshop garage equipment breakdowns, diagnosing and rectify equipment issues ensuring our customers are compliant and productive.

Attention to detail, likes a challenge and ensuring the correct processes are adopted are key for this role. Persons with experience working with vehicle lifts and / or have a background in mechanical / hydraulics engineering are required as a minimum, as training will be provided.

Breakdown Engineers – Electrical Based x 2 Various Locations

This role includes responding to workshop garage equipment breakdowns, diagnosing and resolving equipment issues ensuring our customers are compliant and productive. This role will also include calibration of certain types of garage equipment where applicable.

Attention to detail, likes a challenge and ensuring the correct processes are adopted are key for this role. Persons with experience working with emission & brake testing equipment and / or have a background in electronics engineering are required as a minimum, as training will be provided.
