EURO 6 Emissions – are you ready for the changes?
From the 20th May 2018, EURO 6 standards will be implemented meaning
that all MOT stations will need an emission analyser capable of measuring
these new lower limits accurately!
What does Euro 6 mean?
Euro 6 is aimed at significantly reducing the levels of harmful vehicle (car & van) exhaust emissions. This change has permitted a dramatic drop in emissions limits compared to previous emissions standards still used in today’s MOT Test. Euro 6 was introduced in September 2015, and since that time, all mass-produced cars have had to meet these specific emission requirements. All new cars sold must meet Euro 6 standards for exhaust emissions of NOx and other pollutants.
When do I need to replace my machine?
Before the 20th May 2018. Not all machines will need to be replaced and a software upgrade is all that is required for some machines. This update is different to the regular gas software updates and the cost varies according to each manufacturer. Please contact GEMCO for more information on 01604 828 600.
